Due to climate change, natural and man made disaster Nepal is hit more than in previous years. The Eastern part and the Far western part of Nepal are heavily affected by flooding in terai and landslide in the hilly areas. Most of the flooding is caused by huge dams constructed by India and India’s negligence in carrying out the maintenance work on Koshi barrage according to the treaty. More than 50 thousand people are displaced in East and 18 thousand in West due to these calamities. The transportation is at halt in East West highway and people are bound to use overcrowded ferries or alternative route via India to travel to Eastern districts. The rehabilitation, relief work, maintenance of infrastructure and other related assistance is being carried out by government and various organizations.
